Hull Area Business Advice Centre (HABAC)

This is the Enterprise Agency for the Hull area. 

Hull City Council Start-up Information

Advice for those wishing to start a business or enter self-employment, including a link to a comprehensive Business Support Handbook with useful contact details for support agencies. 

Hull Business Development Fund

Works in conjunction with Hull City Council and has some funding (grant and loan) subject to availability, for those businesses with growth and employment potential.   There is also a useful set of links to other business support in the Hull area.

PROBE (Hull)

PROBE are a not-for-profit, community economic development organisation offering business start-up support amongst their range of services.   

University of Hull Enterprise Centre

Don't forget the university which has its own Enterprise Centre offering you support both before and after you graduate.  As well as helping you to become more enterprising in general, there is also business support in the form of funding, advice, an entrepreneurs' bootcamp and annual business concept and business plan competitions.   The Enterprise Centre provides vital support and ‘pre-incubation' facilities for start-up businesses.  In addition, the centre will house the University's Business and Community Knowledge Exchange, matching the needs of the business community with expertise within the University.

Rural Opportunities for Self-Employment (ROSE)

The Prince's Trust ROSE Project aims to reduce rural isolation and retain enterprising young people in five rural areas of YorkshireYorkshire Dales, Yorkshire Pennines, North Yorkshire Moors and the Coast, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.  If you're 18-30 and live in one of these areas, the ROSE project may be able to help you start your own business.

Women's Enterprise in the Humber

For women wishing to set up in the Humber, there is a free programme of business support and networking which is designed to help support women in business in a variety of ways.
